Spike strip deployed
100 Mile House RCMP have arrested a man for attempted murder after finding a man shot and in distress.
On May 31, at 8:25 a.m., officers responded to a call of a man in distress in the 7000 block of 93 Mile Loop Road.
They found a 39-year-old man who had been shot. He was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life threatening wounds.
A 59-year-old man was identified as the suspect on the scene.
Officers found the man in the Evergreen Drive area and attempted to contain him within a residence as they believed him to be armed.
The suspect fled by vehicle before backup could get to the address.
RCMP used a spike belt to stop the man who even after having all four tires flattened, continued to try and evade police.
Officers then forced the vehicle off the road, boxed it in and took the suspect into custody without further incident.
RCMP are recommending charges of Attempted Murder, Assault, Criminal Harassment, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence, Uttering Threats, Possession of a prohibited weapon and various other charges.
