Human skull found
Victoria police are investigating the discovery of a human skull.
Police spokesman Bowen Osoko says the skull was found by a resident cleaning an outbuilding in an area west of the city's downtown.
According to CTV, Darrell Thorne said his family has rented the Lampson Street property for years but only recently learned they could use the outbuilding space, which is full of left-behind belongings.
“Everybody started digging around, looking for treasures,” Thorne said.
Osoko says the skull is bare bone and appears to have been at the location for a long period of time.
He says investigators are working with the BC Coroners Service to make sure there are no other remains in the area.
