Two women found dead

Update -- 10 a.m.

Forensic teams will spend the day sweeping a home in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood after two women were found dead inside the residence Thursday evening.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the women, aged 83 and 61, are related to one another.

Neighbours told CTV News they believe an elderly mother and her daughter live in the home.

Police confirmed a family member found the women inside the home on 111A Avenue and 136th Street, and alerted authorities.

Investigators say the incident does not appear a random act but foul play has not been confirmed.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation team confirms two women, who knew each other, have been found dead in a Surrey home.

It's a situation they're calling suspicious, but have stopped short of saying it's homicide.

They were called to a house on 111a Avenue and 136th Street some time before 11 p.m. last night.

Yellow police tape was strung up around the house for several hours.

We'll provide more details once they become available.
