Two injured in double shooting
A large RCMP presence descended upon a Walnut Grove neighbourhood at 3:30 Sunday afternoon responding to a double shooting at a home in the 8300 block of 216th Street.
Two victims were taken to hospital with non life threatening shotgun wounds. Mounties would not comment on whether the site of the shooting was a medicinal marijuana grow operation.
Investigators say a male suspect was taken into custody but a large police presence remained at the scene, including a K9 unit.
Several blocks along 216th Street between 88th Avenue and Telegraph Trail were shut down while police searched for clues.
In a media release police said because the "investigation is in it's infancy, very few details are available."
The release said "additional information will be provided as it bcomes available in an effort to protect the integrity of the investigation."
