Snow is once again causing significant highway closures and headaches for Sunday drivers.
According to DriveBC, Highway 1 will be closed in both directions from the West Boundary of Glacier National Park to the East Boundary of Glacier National Park , from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., due to Avalanche Control.
Intermittent openings with delays of 2-3 hours are expected.
Highway 3 will also be closed in both directions from 5 km west of Kootenay Pass Summit to 5 km east of Kootenay Pass Summit because of Avalanche Control.
That closure is expected to last from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a detour available from Nelson to Creston; via Highway 3A and the Kootenay Lake Ferry.
Earlier Sunday, snowfall also created problems on the Coquihalla where a jackknifed semi closed down all Southbound lanes.
According to Environment Canada, another 22 cm of snow is expected to fall on that route, between Hope and Merritt, by Sunday evening.
