Hwy. 1 reopened
UPDATE 10:17 A.M.
Hwy.1 has been reopened from Craigellachie to Revelstoke. Check DriveBC for the most current driving conditions.
Highway 1 is closed in both directions from Craigellachie to Revelstoke (41.7 km), because of a high avalanche hazard.
The highway was closed at 1:30 a.m., there is no detour.
Avalanche control is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. and motorists can expect delays of between two and four hours.
The estimated time of reopening is 10 a.m., DriveBC says the next update will be at 7 a.m., we will have more details as they become available.
This alert was issued Wed. Feb. 19, at 5:35 a.m.
The Coquihalla is also closed. DriveBC says the highway will be open sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday.
