Man killed by crossbow bolt

Police say one man is dead and another in hospital after an attack in Mission involving a crossbow.

Police say a 23-year-old man from Maple Ridge was struck once with a bolt Friday night.

He is in hospital and expected to survive.

Police say a 59-year-old man from Nanaimo was also found at the crime scene unconscious with a crossbow and severe self-inflicted injuries.

He was transported to hospital but pronounced dead within hours.

Police say both men knew each other, but the attack doesn't appear to be gang or drug related.
