More snow expected to hit Coquihalla

Motorists making the trek between the Okanagan and the Lower Mainland can expect another blast of winter white on the Coquihalla Highway over the next 24 hours.

In a special weather statement issued this morning (Thursday) Environment Canada says heavy snowfall is expected on the Coquihalla through Friday morning.

A flow of moist Pacific air will continue to give flurries to the mountain passes of Southern BC today.

Snow will intensify late this afternoon and tonight as a Pacific disturbance embedded in the flow crosses the coast mountains.

Amounts of 15 to 30 centimetres can be expected by Friday morning.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
