Highway reopened near Quesnel
UPDATE 7:30 P.M.
Hwy. 97 has been reopened in both directions north of Quesnel after an earlier fire closed the highway for many hours.
UPDATE 3:30 P.M.
DriveBC is reporting that the highway is still closed in both directions while crews assess the situation. Next update is expected later this afternoon.
Highway 97 is closed in both directions 1.4 km north of Quesnel because of a building fire.
According to twitter user @verityhowarth says traffic is at standstill in the town because of the fire in the strip mall.
There are few other details at this time. Next update is expected at 2:00 p.m.
