Man arrested after violent rampage
Vancouver police say a suspect wanted in connection with a series of violent robberies on Sunday has been arrested.
Police in Surrey found a Honda Civic that had been allegedly stolen in a carjacking incident in Vancouver and a suspect was taken into custody.
Police have not yet released any information about the suspect.
The violence began with a home invasion in Richmond at about 6 p.m. where a resident was stabbed and a car was stolen. About an hour later, that vehicle was involved in a head-on collision.
The suspect fled the scene and allegedly tried to rob a man at a bank machine before crossing the street to a gas station where a second vehicle was carjacked.
The driver received minor injuries, but was able to escape with his wife and two children, aged 7 and 10, who were in the back seat, before the suspect drove off.
