BC's first baby of 2014
Baby boy Daryl Yen is British Columbia's first birth of the New Year.
The province's first baby of 2014 was delivered at Victoria General Hospital at 12:01 a.m. on January 1.
The boy is the first born to Daisy Tsai and Jason Yen. He weighed in at eight pounds, five ounces and was 51 centimetres in length.
The Ministry of Health expects more than 43,000 babies will be born in the coming year.
