Most popular baby names in BC
Ethan and Olivia were the most popular names for babies born in B.C. in 2012, according to newly released figures from the province’s ministry of health.
Rounding out the top five for girls names were Emma, Sophia, Emily and Ava. Other top selections for the boys were Liam, Lucas, Mason and Logan.
Emma and Liam were the most popular names in 2011.
New parents also apparently borrowed baby names from pop culture: Last year, there were 35 babies named Khloe, 30 named Bella, 71 named Justin and 70 named Taylor.

There were 44,270 births in B.C. in 2012, up from 43,991 the year before.
