Coquihalla reopened

UPDATE 8:00 P.M. 

Hwy. 5 reopened. 

UPDATE 6:34 P.M. 

Estimated Time of Opening is now between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

UPDATE 5:20 P.M.

Hwy. 5 reopened northbound but remains closed southbound from Merritt to Exit 202, Portia Interchange (88.3 km) because of Vehicle Incident.

Estimated Time of Opening is between 6 pm and 9 pm.

Alternate Route via Hwy 8 and Hwy 1.

Next Update is 6 pm

The Coquihalla highway is closed in two different spots between Merritt and Hope, due to two traffic incidents.

The first spot is affecting Highway 5 Northbound, it is closed at Great Bear Snowshed because of Vehicle Incident.

The second spot affects the southbound lane 35-km south of Merritt because of another Vehicle Incident.

A detour is available via Highway 1 or Highway 3 by avoiding driving Highway 5 at all.

Next update is expected at 5 p.m.
