The journey to any Olympic games begins with determination, stamina, heart - and the right training.
Silver Star Nordic Manager Glenn Bond says so far, 11 medals have come from local and international athletes who trained at Silver Star.
"It's been an amazing time at the Olympics and we want to offer a big congratulations to all the athletes who trained at Silver Star, whether they've won medals or not," says Bond.
"They are great ambassadors for the resort and speak very highly of Silver Star."
Some of those athletes include Norwegian biathaloners Emil Hegle Svendsen, who won gold in the Men's 20 km Individual and Ole Einar Bjoerndalen who won silver. Svendsen also won silver in the Men's 10 km Sprint. Norwegian Tora Berger also won gold in the 15 km Individual.
The Norwegian cross-country team trained at Silver Star last year and have two podium finishes so far. Marit Bjoergen won gold in the Ladies Individual Sprint Classic event and the 15 km Pursuit. In addition, Petter Northug won bronze in the Men's Individual Sprint Classic event.
Continuing with cross country, Lucas Bauer of the Czech Republic won bronze in the Men's 15 km Free Cross Country event.
Bond says they expect many more athletes from several countries who trained at Silver Star to reach the podium, including athletes from Canada, Japan, Czech Republic, Finland, Australia, USA, Norway, Russia, and Switzerland.
