Two years ago, former CIA operative Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) was forced to take extreme measures to save his kidnapped daughter, making sure her takers paid the ultimate price. But the story didn't end there.

Fast forward two years. While on a trip to Istanbul, Bryan gets a visit from his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) and ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen). What would have been a happy reunion turns deadly when Lenore is kidnapped. Bryan realizes that his past has finally caught up with him—the crimelord whose family Bryan destroyed is now seeking vengeance with an army of killers after Bryan's family.

With Lenore held hostage and their daughter on the run, Bryan must rediscover all of his lethal skills, not to mention every ounce of courage, to get to his family before it's too late.
