The next Kelowna meeting of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Okanagan Centre will be held on Tues Sept 9th 7:30pm at Okanagan College, room C202 in the Lab building.
Sean Dougherty from the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory near Penticton will speak about the new Expanded Very Large Array (EVLA) telescope in New Mexico and the supercomputer they are building for the project. Sean will showcase the amazing design work that goes into making such a machine as well as highlight the new science capability the telescope will have with all of its upgrades. |
