2008 Conference, October 21-23 Coast Capri Hotel, Kelowna, B.C The Okanagan has become a center for water science in western Canada. The “One Watershed – One Water” conference will focus on sustainable water management and highlight ongoing research and future needs in the Okanagan. Our international was basin is located within Canada’s only desert – a compelling context for developing new policy, science and management practices. The environment of the Okanagan combined with the cutting-edge supply-and-demand study now underway will frame conference discussions on regional, national and international issues – including rapid population growth, impacts of mountain pine beetle, and climate change. |
