The BC Interior Music Awards (formerly the Okanagan Music Awards) will be held on September 30, 2008 at the Kelowna Community Theatre. The valley will have a chance to attend a celebration of musical endeavors by paying tribute to local musicians, their achievements, and the local scene. The Interiors version of the Juno’s will present 25 Awards to the Interior’s 2008 favourites. The evening will include performances by Cold Driven, Redfish, Earthbound, Nixie, Darylectones, Blu Hopkins & Silvercreek & the Sleddogs. Lobby activities include Industry displays, entertainment, food and licensed bar. The evening’s host is proverbial favorite Liz McKinney from 103.9 The Juice, a great supporter of local music in Kelowna. The purpose of the Okanagan Music Awards is to promote professional excellence; a better understanding and greater appreciation for music; and to provide a public forum for songwriters, performers, and musicians in order to recognize their artistic efforts and achievement.
