Canada Day has arrived. Yes there will be over 55,000 people in downtown Kelowna celebrating everything that makes us Canadian. This is one of the few stories I get to spend most of my year working on. My day job at Festivals Kelowna allows me to select our performers and scour our community for various organizations and partners that come together to Celebrate Canada Day - Kelowna. 

 

A few of my favorite highlights this year include:

- The Team Extreme Warrior Force Strongman shows on Water Street at 12:30pm and 3:00pm

- Fireworks at 10:30pm

- The diverse sampling of sounds and cultures on our TD Beach Stage. For example our last three acts that night include: Robert Gordon College from Scotland, Nolunta's from Italy, and Digitaal a Bhangra band from Surrey, and a Samoan Performance Troupe.
