A single vehicle accident on Hwy 97 South near the Glenrosa turnoff has sent one person to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The female driver flipped her car when she became distracted by an insect flying around the inside of the vehicle and she lost control, striking the centre median and rolling onto her roof.
Traffic is being redirected around the scene, but the accident is blocking one of the southbound lanes.
“It’s been a busy morning, all in all. Our resources have been used up,” says West Kelowna Fire Captain Troy Russell.
“All of a sudden the sun comes out and we’re really busy.”
Prior to the rollover, a motocycle and car collided a few blocks away.
