West Kelowna movie debuts at Xtreme 8

A made for TV movie shot in the Okanagan last year will make its big screen debut on the westside next week.

'A Mother's Nightmare,' starring Annabeth Gish with debut next Thursday, May 9 at the Xtreme Landmark 8 Cinema.

The movie tells the story of a teenage romance turned psychotic which ultimately turns into a battle to survive the possessiveness of an obsessed girlfriend.

"A Mother's Nightmare received an amazing amount of support from the Okanagan Film Commission and the community of West Kelowna," says Andy Holmes of Sepia Films the producers of the movie.

"We really wanted to give everyone who contributed to the movie a chance to see it on the big screen.

The 5 p.m. screening is a fundraiser for the Westside Community Food Bank.

Tickets will be available beginning Monday, May 6 with a donation to the Westside Food Bank. Tickets are available only at the concession during normal business hours from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

"The Landmark Cinemas Xtreme 8 is excited to have the opportunity to work with the producers of 'A Mother's Nightmare' to host this screening. There were many local residents involved in the making of it and it gives them and the entire community an opportunity to see their work as well as prominent West Kelowna locations on the big screen," says theatre general manager, Rick Davis.

Sepia Films is in the process of producing the sequel, 'A Sister's Nightmare.'
