Update - April 28: Friends and family have identified the woman as Kyra Holt. A memorial page has been set up on Facebook that has already attracted 150 members by Sunday morning. It includes dozens of entries and photos of Holt, with many people offering their sympathies.
A 39-year-old woman has lost her life after falling from the back of a pickup truck late last night in Naramata.
According to police, the incident happened around 9 p.m. last night after the woman and her friends were returning from a ride on the KVR trail near Naramata.
On the ride home, two of the women were riding in the box of a pickup truck driven by a 28-year-old male.
The truck was driving south on Robinson Avenue when one of the women fell from the vehicle and suffered fatal head trauma.
A collision reconstruction analyst attended the scene and both RCMP and the Coroner continue to investigate.
No name has been released at this time.
