In an attempt to stay relevant and appease audiences of all ages, the Okanagan International Children's Festival is taking a break in 2013 but have a plan to return next year.
They have also been named as this year’s recipient of partial proceeds from the second annual Okanagan Falls Bike Rally raffle, which features a 2013 FLSTC Heritage Softail Black Harley Davidson.
The bike is on permanent display until the draw date on May 12 at the OK Falls Hotel and the Cherry Lane Shopping Centre on April 7, 13, 14, 21.
"We are extremely grateful to the OK Falls Hotel as the money received from the raffle will help keep the festival going through 2013,” said Vicky Jones, executive director of the Okanagan International Children’s Festival.
"The rally itself will be a great way for us to provide activities for children this May and demonstrate our continued commitment to the community.”
Only 3500 tickets are being sold for the raffle.
The rally talks place May 10-12 and will include a poker run, bike show, tattoo competition and beverage garden at Centennial Park and the OK Falls Hotel. A children’s activity area will be in the grounds of the OK Falls Elementary School with the festival providing face painting and arts and crafts workshops.
The Okanagan International Children’s Festival will return to Penticton May 22-24, 2014.
