The City of Enderby and Community Futures of the North Okanagan have launched an innovative Business Beautification Program.

By participating in this program, Enderby businesses will be able to access a financial incentive that will go towards facade improvements.

Eligible businesses will be able to access an incentive fund covering 10 per cent of the material costs associated with a commercial facade improvement.

The minimum incentive value is $200 (for projects with at least $2,000 in material costs) and the maximum incentive value is $1,000 (for projects with $10,000 or more in material costs). The total value of the incentive fund is $10,000. All applications must be pre-approved.

If fully subscribed, at least $90,000 worth of private sector investment in beautification of commercial premises within Enderby will occur. This will stimulate the labour market and create new social and economic opportunities.

Enderby Mayor Howie Cyr says, “I'm really excited by this initiative, as it has the potential to strengthen and add vitality to our business community while also building key partnerships. This program could really stimulate the local economy and support our great local businesses."

Norm Metcalf, General Manager for Community Futures of the North Okanagan says he is delighted to work with the City of Enderby on this Business Beautification Project.

"Partnerships like this further Community Futures' objective to support small business and the dedicated entrepreneurs that run them. Our organization also provides several other programs and services that will provide assistance to businesses at little or no cost." Visit their website for more info.

Local business owners within Enderby may pick up a Business Beautification Program application at the Enderby City Hall or call Kurt Inglis at 250-838-7230.
