Central Okanagan
Crystal Mtn. development still on hold
An expansion planned for Crystal Mountain remains on hold.
The Regional District of Central Okanagan was asked for, and granted, the developers a six-month extension to complete all requirements in accordance with the RDCO Applications Procedure Bylaw.
This is the sixth extension granted by the RDCO.
The development received first reading March 17, 2008 while second and third readings were granted August 24, 2009.
Staff indicated the developers have been unable to secure financing for phase one of the project due to recent economic conditions.
While it is possible Swiss based investment group 'Agentura' will eventually become a major investor in the project, that has yet to happen.
The project, proposed by Crystal Ski and Golf Resort Inc. would include hotels, on-hill accommodations, golf course, gondola and other resort type amenities.
