Okanagan College launches enhanced website

Okanagan College Media Release

websiteOkanagan College unveiled its new online presence this week when it launched a new website with an enhanced look, new features and improved navigation.

The site, which welcomes nearly a million unique visitors each year who look at more than 6.7 million pages collectively, features a revamped aesthetic with a clean, current look and feel. From a navigational perspective, the site offers an increased number of direct links to top level pages within the site, courtesy of a horizontal drop down menu with 29 options for users to enter the site and find the information they need.

The project was led by a team of Okanagan College employees from various departments, guided by consultation with students, employees and members of the community as well as by research and data pertaining to site usage and current industry trends.

The launch marks the first significant redesign of the site since 2006.

“Our website is the primary source of information for prospective and current students as well as our employees and community partners,” says Allan Coyle, Director of Public Affairs. “The reworked site offers greater access to information, news, events, and is easier to navigate. We took the time to listen to our users and have responded with a site we think does a better job of answering their needs.”

Among the new features on the home page is a dynamic calendar of events at the College, channels for current College news, and links to the College’s new social media directory, which lists a variety of accounts, RSS feeds, blogs and other social tools.

The new site can be viewed at okanagan.bc.ca.
