China's February exports surge
Mar 7, 2013 / 9:05 pm
China's exports surged more than expected last month in a possible sign of stronger global demand.
China's customs agency said Friday that exports jumped 21.8 per cent to $139.4 billion dollars in February. That's down from the 25 per cent growth in January but much higher than many economists had been forecasting.
The strong growth also comes even though February had fewer working days than usual because of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The agency said imports fell 15.2 per cent to $124.12 billion while the trade surplus widened to $15.2 billion.
