The Motel Turco Bar
Police, firefighters and paramedics are at the scene of an explosion and fire in Trois-Rivieres.
About 12:30 p.m. the Motel Turco Bar on Courteau St. blew apart scattering debris around the area.
The first responders on the scene found wood and other lumber scattered across the property and several fires burning.
Michel Letarte, public relations officer for the fire department, said the explosion happened where two buildings met -- one of which was the motel section of the complex.
He was not sure if anyone was inside the building that exploded -- or even if it was currently being used as a motel or if the section of the complex had been shut down.
