CRIME: THEFT OF NECKLACE

DATE: February 1, 2013

RCMP FILE: 2013-4777

The owners of a jewellery store located on the 400 block of Bernard Avenue in Kelowna called RCMP to report a theft that occurred on January 31, 2013. A couple that had called about purchasing a necklace earlier in the day showed up just before the store closed. They were shown a variety of chains and necklaces; asked to have several put on hold until the next day, then left the store. Upon opening the store the next day, the owners discovered that a chain and pendant worth over $4000 was missing. Video surveillance indicates the couple did take the jewellery, and inquiries with neighbouring jewellery stores confirmed that this couple had visited other stores as well.
