Man takes bite out of crime cops

A man who allegedly bit two police officers in Langley, while they were trying to help him will soon be facing a provincial court judge.

RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks says one Mountie was bit on the hand and the other on the ankle as they tried to arrest the intoxicated man who had twice fallen on the pavement.

Marks says bouncers at a bar alerted the officers to the 23-year-old man early Saturday morning, saying he was causing problems at the front door.

She says the man's friends offered to care for him, but he ran off and fell face first on the pavement before fleeing and removing his shirt as he ran.

Marks says the officers followed and found him laying on the floor of a fast food restaurant before he ran out and fell again.

She says the man, who bit the officers as they tried to pick him up and take him to a police car, will be making a court appearance on May 5.
