A four- day trial for a Penticton man facing assault charges is slated to take place starting Oct. 21.

Michael Beauchamp, who is also going to trial on a second degree murder charge in June, was facing separate charges including assault with weapon or causing harm, unlawful confinement or imprisonment and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The murder trial is expected to last six weeks. A pre-trial conference is set for April 8.

Beauchamp is facing the murder charge in connection with the death of Terrence Dale Wooley, who was found  unconscious outside Slack Alice’s Show Pub just after midnight on April 25,2009.

After being escorted outside the back door by staff, following an incident at the bar, Wooley was found suffering from severe head injuries.

He was taken to hospital and remained in a coma until his death on May 25, 2009, at Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton.
