Para-snowboard team trains at Big White

The Canadian Para-snowboard team has been training at Big White's snow cross course as they prepare to qualify for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia later this month.
The Sochi 2014 Games will be the first time that Para-Snowboard events will be included in the Paralympic programme.
Para-snowboard events include male and female athletes with a physical disability such as spinal injury, cerebral palsy, amputation, and visual impairments. Athletes compete based on their functional ability, allowing athletes with different disabilities to compete against each other.
The Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games will take place between 7-16 March 2014. Para-Snowboard will be included in the Alpine Skiing programme which also includes Downhill, Super G, Super Combined, Giant Slalom and Slalom events.
