RCMP Quarterly Report to Council

Here are the highlights of the Quarterly Report provided by Superintendent Reg Burgess.
- Cyber bullying and sexual exploitation are on the increase. Vehicle fatalities have decreased to 7 from 11.
- Road safety is up 51%.
- 7 out of 106 members have been recognized with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
- There was an increase in criminal code files due to break and enter and auto theft. However, overall crime decreased by over 1%.
- The Province will look at using this detachment’s “Eye-Cat” team as a model.
- There were over 200 hours of foot patrols downtown.
