Caroline Grover, CEO of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce announced Friday that the Kelowna Chamber is promoting a brand new venture – a five-star, all inclusive trip to China in October 2013.
“The venture is brand-new for us,” says Grover, who is going on the same trip in April to ensure the October trip will go off without any glitches.
“This trip offers amazing sights and opportunities to seven out of ten of China’s world historic sites, such as the Great Wall, and the Temple of Heaven.”
“Importantly,” said Grover, “this can be as much a business trip as a pleasure trip.” The tour operator is able to set up business meetings for interested travelers with government officials and business owners.
“We recognize China as a critical part of the BC and Canadian economy,” Grover says. “This is a great opportunity to be introduced to the culture and the business life of China.”
Price, value and connections will drive this Chamber trip to success: four- and five-star hotels, three meals a day, nine days of packed tours with English-speaking guides –all taxes and gratuities included, along with international airfare, for only $2,475. “That is the Chamber member price,” says Grover. “Non-members are welcome for only $150 more.”
A Kelowna-based registered travel agent will be assisting in ticketing and insurance for travelers, working with the Chamber and its tour operator, Citslinc.
The trip – October 9-17, 2013 – takes travelers to Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou. The trip has been a solid hit with Chambers and Boards of Trade across North America since Citslinc began operating the program in 1992.
“Beyond incredible,” said a Mississauga Board of Trade member; “It exceeded everyone’s expectations.”
A fringe benefit sees Chamber members traveling with business colleagues from around the valley, and around the country. That equals nine days to talk business and get to know each other.
The Chamber will hold orientation sessions to answer questions, and review the itinerary. Sessions will run every other month from February to the booking deadline, July 31.
Information on the trip, registration form, FAQs, and itinerary can be found on the Chamber website.
