2 people hit at Gordon/Harvey

The following release has just been issued by Kelowna RCMP
Two elderly women have been taken to hospital with undetermined injuries after they were struck in the intersection of Gordon Drive and Harvey Avenue this morning.
On February 4th, 2013 at 6:35 am, a member of the Kelowna RCMP came upon a pedestrian crash in the intersection of Gordon Drive and Harvey Avenue. Two elderly women had been struck in the intersection and were suffering from undetermined injuries that are believed to be serious in nature. Both women have been rushed to hospital.
Central Okanagan Traffic Services and a collision analyst are currently examining the crash site. Traffic disruption is expected to continue pending completion of the scene analysis.
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be provided as they become available.
Witnesses report that two pedestrians were struck at Gordon and Harvey early Monday morning.
Emergency crews and RCMP were called to the corner at around 6:30 a.m.
Three vehicles stayed on the scene, and the drivers were all interviewed by police. One female, who was visibly upset, was seen being consoled by an officer.
The witness told Castanet that it appeared it might have been two females who were hit.
RCMP are continuing to investigate.
