Cans stacked into sculptures will be put on display inside Orchard Park Mall for the next week.

Built by architects, local business and schools, the can constructions will be the third annual exhibit to raise the issue of hunger in the community.

Spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Kelowna and Save-On-Foods, the design-build competition has generated some interesting pieces over the years such as “LOVE CAN end Hunger” built by a team of UBC-O Engineering students.

When the sculptures are De-CANstructed, the artwork is donated to the Kelowna Community Food Bank and Kelowna Salvation Army.

There are nine teams set to compete this year and you can check out the display from Feb 4 – 11 during regular shopping .

Admission is free, but non-perishable food items will be accepted.
