A pair of Vernon women face drug trafficking and possession charges following a sobriety check in Princeton last Friday.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, police stopped a brown 2005 Pontiac Sunfire travelling at a speed 'notably' below the posted speed limit.
Upon detaining the 23-year-old female driver and her female passenger also 23, it was discovered that the driver had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for trafficking.
The pair was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance due to the officer’s observations.
A police dog search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a small amount of marijuana found in the passenger compartment along with 95 separate packs of crack cocaine and quantity of pills believed to be oxycondone, found hidden in the trunk compartment.
Both women were taken into custody on cocaine trafficking and marijuana possession charges.
