Peachland crash blamed on drunk

At around 9 on Monday night (January 21) West Kelowna RCMP attended a motor vehicle collision near Antler's Beach in Peachland.
The investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 97 crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle .
The 32-year-old male driver of the southbound vehicle showed symptoms of impairment and was detained for an impaired driving investigation. He later provided breath samples three times over the legal limit.
He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date set for May 2013.
The driver of the northbound vehicle had to be extracted from his vehicle by Peachland Fire Rescue and was taken to Kelowna General Hospital with serious, but non life threatening injuries.
