Scott tastes defeat at BC Scotties

The field finally caught up with Kelly Scott at the BC Scotties going on this week in Cloverdale.

The Kelowna Curling Club skip lost her first game of the week long round-robin Wednesday night, falling 9-7 to Allison MacInnis of Abbotsford.

MacInnis snapped a 3-3 tie with three in the decisive sixth end before picking up two more in the eighth and a single in the tenth.

The loss dropped Scott into a first place tie with with Patti Knezevic of Prince George. Both rinks share identical 5-1 records in the 10 team round robin.

Marla Mallett of the Royal City Club in New Westminster and MacInnis share third spot at 4-2.

Scott will take on Knezevic and Mallett Thursday before closing out the round robin Friday morning against Simone Brosseau of Victoria.

The top four teams advance to the playoff round starting Friday night with the final Sunday at 2 p.m.
