Death on a work site

At the site of the accident in Osoyoos

Osoyoos RCMP have confirmed a person died in an industrial accident at the Osoyoos Cottages work site on the east side of Osoyoos Lake Thursday morning.

Part of the construction site, accessed by Road 22, was taped off Thursday afternoon. Workers at the site declined to comment.

Megan Johnston, communication officer with WorkSafeBC, said they learned early in the afternoon that there had been a fatality at a workplace in the Osoyoos area.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of the accident, but no further details were currently available, she said.
