Kyllo wins Liberal nomination

Following the retirement of MLA George Abbott, current Sicamous councilor and deputy mayor Greg Kyllo has won the B.C. Liberal nomination for the Okanagan-Shuswap.

Kyllo, who is also the current president and owner of Twin Anchors Houseboat Vacations won the nomination yesterday after a full day of voting and will represent the area in the spring provincial election.

“The past few months have brought great energy to the Shuswap riding,” said Kyllo, according to a release on the B.C. Liberals website.

“I’m just pleased to be joining the strong list of candidates that have been coming forward to run on Premier Christy Clark’s team.”

The Okanagan-Shuswap electoral district includes the towns of Salmon Arm, Enderby, Armstrong, Sorrento and Sicamous.

Other individuals seeking the nomination had included Mel Arnold, Marty Bootsma, Will Hansma and Jordan Ross.
