A new Fire Chief has been appointed by the Regional Board to serve residents in the Wilson’s Landing Fire Protection District.
Effective January 1, 2013, Robert Baker will take over the chief’s duties for the paid on-call department. He’s been a firefighter with the department since 2001 and most recently served as its Deputy Chief and Training Officer.
The selection committee unanimously recommended Baker’s appointment, noting his dedication and service to the Wilson’s Landing Fire Department and the respect that he’s garnered among residents in the community.
The Board also recognized the valuable service provided over the past ten years by Wilson’s Landing Fire Chief Derek Fletcher. He’s been with the department since 1986 and will continue to serve as a firefighter and Captain, utilizing his leadership strengths in training with the paid on-call department.
