A 59-year-old man is in custody after apparently stabbing his sister. The incident happened in the 9000 block of Winchester Road on Sunday afternoon just after 11 a.m.

The RCMP had to call the man out of the house. 

At first, the man would not obey commands and kept one hand behind his back. After extensive verbal coaching, he was arrested without incident and is being held in custody until his first court appearance.

Officers are considering charges of assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

The 62-year-old woman was treated at the scene for injuries to her left arm.
