Handgun and cash seized in Vernon

Three men were arrested in the early morning hours of Dec. 8 at the Vernon Holiday Inn after causing a disturbance by banging on doors and pulling the fire alarm.

When officers arrived on scene and located two of the men carrying bags, they immediately turned away from the officers and began running. They were chased down and arrested, the third suspect was found hiding inside a car parked at the hotel.

Upon their arrest, the group was searched and officers found over $27,000 in Canadian currency along with a Glock .22-caliber pistol and altered Glock magazine.

The three men are between the ages of 20-26 and are from the Lower Mainland. They have been charged with causing a disturbance, mischief, breach of probation, possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, obstruction and resisting arrest.

The group made their first court appearance this morning (Monday).
