Some parking lot patience please!

Sorry for the delay in posting this column, but I felt the need to take a week off after receiving some negative feedback regarding my weekly beef.

Hey Rob...
I'm sorry but your column SUCKS.
You're not funny.
-Erica

Alright, I’m lying; it made me laugh and satisfied me a great deal.  Remember, I am not writing these columns to make friends, I am writing them to make points; mission clearly accomplished!  One more reminder to those of you who are not enjoying my weekly rants, think of it like Brussels sprouts, if you don’t like them you don’t have to eat them, same with my beef!

Now, moving on!

Christmas is coming and it’s quite obvious, based on the mall parking lot alone. For some reason as the holidays approach it seems some people forget how to safely and politely maneuver their vehicle in tight spaces. Now, I know there is a lot on your mind with the hustle and bustle of Christmas, but it’s not like the rules of the road or even common courtesy have changed!

Just because the parking lot is packed, does not mean the roads between parking spots have become one-way streets.  So why are so many people DRIVING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE!!??  Not only are cars often taking up the whole road, but drivers have the audacity to give you a dirty look; or worse, wave at you with only one finger, and for what? Trying to turn into the right lane, you know, the lane that YOU ARE ALSO SUPPOSED TO BE IN!

I know it can be frustrating when all you want to do is park your car or get the hell out of the parking lot and back to your comfy home, but a little patience goes a long way at this time of year. Remember that your time is no more important than anyone else’s and by getting selfish in your efforts, you are only making things worse for everyone, including yourself.

Perhaps this year Santa might bring us all some common sense for the holidays; one can only hope!  Good luck to you all as you battle the crowds this holiday season and please try to work together! If you have any holiday beefs you want to share, send them my way!

P.S.  Thanks for reading again Erica!
