ROCK4KIDS

December in Kelowna promises to be a very busy time musically!  The valley area will be filled with the sweet sounds of music, presented by a variety of local musicians.  This coming weekend we will be able to enjoy the finest in Rock music as well as donate precious gifts to the 19th Annual ROCK4KIDS concert event.  Produced by local talent, Jim Leguilloux, the December 2nd showcase promises to be an exciting one.  A vast variety of local and regional Talent will be on hand, including “Young’uns”, “Zamboni Bros.”, “The Calum Hughes Collective” along with Jim’s combo: “Jimmy LeGuilloux Band”!

Later in the evening will be none other than local sensation “The Flu” with “The Odds” as headliners! Quite an impressive line-up, one that also includes: Leah West, Andrew and Zachari Smith and at noon on Sunday, you are invited to a Songwriter’s Circle…featuring among others; Floyd Vedan, Steve Dreger and Theresa Bishop!

All the Talent and festivities begin at noon on Sunday December 2nd, at: Whiski Jacks Pub, in West Kelowna!...the 19th Annual ROCK4KIDS—powered by Kelowna’s Power 104 FM!!

More exciting news about the Flu!...Although the group are still busy recording and mixing their debut album, slated for an early 2013 release, the group will also be appearing at Club Sapphire on December 14th!!  ‘The Flu’ will be releasing an EP, featuring four songs from their new record, along with the premiere of the “Monsters” video!  So, remember that date:  December 14th at Club Sapphire, where you can get The Flu!

Yes, I know, we are just entering in to December, and the wrap of 2012—but I am so excited about the prospects of 2013, what with the debut album from one of Kelowna’s best, ‘The Flu’, and now international Blues/Rock veterans “Snakecharmer”!  Slated to be released at the end of January, the self-titled debut by this band is one of the most anticipated on the Continent!  Founded by original members of ‘Whitesnake’, Micky Moody and Neil Murray, “Snakecharmer” boasts ex-Thunder drummer Harry James, and Vocalist extraordinaire, Chris Ousey.  The new record is hot…dripping hot!---I’ll have much more on these rock n’ blues gents in future columns, so I hope you will stay tuned!
