Kids taking their message to Ottawa

Two Kelowna kids with inspiring stories have been selected to take part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) “Kids for a Cure” day in Ottawa.

Nicholas and Cameron Steed were both diagnosed with type-1 diabetes before they were two-years-old.

The brothers have experienced first hand the daily struggles of living with the disease and have become active JDRF ambassadors, eager to do what they can to help raise awareness and funds so that a cure can be found.

They will travel to Ottawa next week to meet with parliamentarians and create awareness around T1D. They will also talk about some of the challenges they face on a daily basis, and highlight how T1D research and innovation has improved their lives.
