Man found clinging to life on highway

A 59-year-old male resident of Enderby was found unconscious and lying on the shoulder of Highway 97A, by a passing motorist Friday night, Nov. 9.

RCMP say the man was located at the intersection of Hwy 97A and Grandview Bench Rd. near Grindrod at around 8:20 p.m.

The man is now in Vernon General Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for very serious injuries to his head and torso.

Police suspect that the man may have been struck by a passing vehicle as he walked adjacent to the highway.

Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP and Southeast District Traffic Services continue to investigate this incident, and request anyone who was traveling in the vicinity of Grindrod on the evening of November 9 and who may have information about this collision contact the Enderby office of Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP at (250) 838-6818.
