No snow . . . yet.

It feels like snow - it looks like snow - but, don't expect to see much, if any, at the valley bottom, despite the forecast over the next 24 hours.

Environment Canada Meteorologist, Doug Lundquist, says the Okanagan may get a skiff of wet snow in places later in the evening Thursday or Friday morning, but that's about it.

"I wouldn't even call it an event. When the cold air moves in there is usually not much precipitation associated with it," says Lundquist.

"We are forecasting a few flurries to possibly reach the valley bottom. I really wouldn't worry about it."

Lundquist says what does fall will probably melt very quickly.

"The ground is really warm and the roads are still warm."

"If it doesn't melt, it will probably sublimate. It's going to be so dry it will kind of just skip the stage of liquid and go straight from solid to gas."

Lundquist says he expects to see a more significant snowfall early next week.

"I am a little concerned about Monday and Tuesday. They are calling for a 30 per cent chance of showers, but I think that forecast is really light," says Lundquist.

"There may be some snow at that particular point. There could be a couple of places that get a few centimetres of wet snow in the valley bottom."

What snow does fall should be fairly wet.
