Fashion Show/Fundraiser Wild Heart Stays Local

Last month I was able to bring you a story about CATO's fashion show after the event (http://www.castanet.net/news/Kelowna/81058/A-runway-of-fashion-in-Kelowna).

This week I want to draw your attention to another fashion show/fundraiser happening in Kelowna on Nov 16th. Local community-based arts & culture blog Awesome Okanagan and local salon Loyal Hair Therapy present “Wild Heart,” a 2012 Fall/Winter Fashion Show with heart. The Fashion Show will be utilizing local talent for production, clothes, hair, makeup and services. Working with a new local clothing store Man + Woman, the event will  raise money for H.O.P.E. Outreach.

H.O.P.E. Outreach (Helping Out People Exploited) is a volunteer based organization that was established in Kelowna in 2008. They are a growing organization that provides night-time outreach to homeless and/or sexually exploited women in the downtown core.

Doors open at 8pm, come early for the Jail Bird Art Show 2 which will still be on display during Wild Heart.

The Jail Bird Residency Series is an artist in residence program at The Habitat. The artist is offered studio space and a small budget for one month during which they create works for the walls of the Habitat. There will be a live auction featuring swag from awesome local businesses.
